A seasoned litigator and passionate advocate, Sanja excels equally in the courtroom and written advocacy.
Sanja’s recent successes include obtaining a total defense verdict for a prominent Houston homebuilder, winning a six-figure international arbitration award on behalf of a cosmetics manufacturer against its French distributor, and securing a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against an oil and gas manufacturer on basis of trade secret misappropriation.
Before joining Foster Yarborough Killingsworth, Sanja practiced complex commercial litigation in courts and arbitration tribunals around the world for BakerHostetler and Miller Nash in Portland, Oregon.

General Commercial Litigation
Recovered all relief requested and full attorney’s fees in international arbitration brought on behalf of cosmetics manufacturer against its long-time French distributor (first-chair).
Obtain temporary restraining order and temporary injunction to stop partners in an oil-and-gas company from expelling the company’s founder, with Patrick Yarborough and Luke Ott.
Defeated motion to compel arbitration in construction dispute, which later settled confidentially on favorable terms (first-chair).
Currently pursuing multimillion-dollar trade secret and insurance recovery claims on behalf of oil and gas services companies.
Represented foreign manufacturer of food processing lines in complex commercial dispute before federal district court and International Chamber of Commerce: prepare and argue motion to compel arbitration, motion for injunctive relief; represent client at mediation; and successfully resolve dispute through settlement.
Successfully defend preliminary injunction brought by minority shareholder against majority shareholder of berry farm asserting claims for breach of fiduciary duty and shareholder oppression.
Employment Litigation
Won a total defense verdict in “60 seconds” in a sexual harassment and retaliation case on behalf of a Houston custom homebuilder, presenting opening statement, cross-examining the accuser, and directing and crossing other key witnesses.
Personal Injury
Obtained favorable confidential settlement for defendant trucking company in West Texas.
Resolved car-accident case for defendant without payment to plaintiff.
Personal counsel to major oil-and-gas services companies in coverage and settlement disputes with insurers.
Handling several high-value trucking cases in South and West Texas.
Property and Construction Disputes
Obtained a confidential out-of-court settlement against a boat dock, swimming pool, and landscaping contractor.
Won contested eviction trial for commercial property owner in Houston’s Upper Kirby Management District.
Negotiated early exit from multiyear waste contract on behalf of major commercial property owner.
Handling ongoing commercial property disputes in and around Rice Village.
