Luke Ott
Luke Ott is a trial lawyer and legal strategist whose track record of high-stakes victories continues to grow.
In one of the first major fraud cases he handled for the firm, Luke devised a strategy for attaching a warehouse full of merchandise that resulted in a pre-trial recovery of $215,000, plus several hundred thousand dollars of chlorine packaged for retail sale. But he was not done. Not content to stop there, Luke tried the case alongside Patrick Yarborough to a jury and won a $361,190 verdict in Galveston County, with over half of the amount awarded as punitive and other non-compensatory damages. In another fraud case, Luke won a $1.2 million judgment and a seven-figure recovery for the victim of an investment scheme. His experience in high-stakes valuation disputes is equally impactful: representing a hotel development initially appraised at $215 million in a Harris County tax appeal, Luke successfully argued the motion to strike the appraisal district’s star expert and helped secure a $86 million reduction in the property’s appraised value.
Luke has also excelled on the national stage. In a New York City arbitration, he handled several witnesses, including experts, securing a seven-figure confidential win for a wronged party. In August 2025, Luke teamed up with Sanja Muranovic and Patrick Yarborough to win a complete defense verdict in a high-stakes sexual harassment and retaliation case against a luxury homebuilder—with Luke driving the key evidence to persuade the jury to reject the plaintiff’s claims.
As a versatile litigator, Luke is equally comfortable arguing summary judgment hearings, taking expert depositions, or delivering multimedia courtroom presentations. Luke develops winning commercial litigation strategies including partnership disputes, fraud, breach of contract, and corporate governance issues. Being well-versed in the Texas Uniform Condominium Act, Luke also provides litigation and ongoing operational support to a 136-storefront commercial condominium complex in Houston’s Chinatown.
A graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, before joining FYK, Luke practiced for three years at Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing PLLC (AZA), a premier national boutique firm.
